This knife is constructed from 1095 high-carbon steel and clay-differentially heat treated, producing a visible hamon, the line where the edge hardens and the steel transforms. The spine remains slightly softer, adding toughness and resilience behind the cutting edge. The knife also features a ring back for added grip and retention.
The handle is crafted from stabilized and dyed box elder burl by Bitterroot Handleworks, bringing bold character and durability to match the blade.
1095 is not stainless and will patina with use over time.
